The Graduation Ceremony of the School of Humanities and Social Science took place on 6 December 2023 in the College Hall of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. Over 400 graduates and guests attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the president’s address by Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK. He shared the story about rocks, pebbles, and sand to inspire students to build a strong foundation in life while reflecting and prioritizing the values they pursuit, thus creating a fulfilling life.
The valedictorian, Ms Tan Yueting Connie, who graduated with Distinction from the Master of Arts in Theatre Studies, congratulated all the graduates on their achievements and efforts throughout the year and wished them all the best in their future journey.
During the ceremony, Dr Victor Chan of the Department of Social Science and Dr Cathy Fung of the Department of Chinese received the 2022/23 HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards. These awards are presented annually to distinguished teachers who have demonstrated outstanding performance in teaching, dedication to continuous improvement in pedagogy, and made a distinguished contribution to teaching and learning.
